Tao Zongwang comes from Guangzhou in Henan and was born to a farming family. He swings an iron shovel with great strength and can also use spear and sword, and he is known as Nine-Tailed Tortoise. He is the fourth chief of Mount Huangmen, with Ou Peng, Jiang Jing and Ma Lin.
